When it comes to keeping your drapes and sheers looking their best, professional on-site drapery cleaning offers an effective and convenient way to do so. Maybe you have never heard about this type of drapery cleaning so this is why in this post we want to share with you all about its benefits, how it works, and the most frequently asked questions we receive from our customers.

Benefits On-site Drapery Cleaning

Before evaluating the benefits of on-site drapery cleaning it is essential to know why you should have your drapes and sheers professionally cleaned at least once a year:

Increased Lifespan

Regular cleaning of your draperies will help them look like new and last longer, as dirt, dust, and allergens can be trapped in the fabric and cause wear and tear over time. Point Three’s professional cleaners use steam cleaning and non-toxic products to effectively remove dust and debris without damaging the fabric.

Improved Air Quality

Professional on-site drapery cleaners will use cleaning solutions that are safe for both people and pets, so you can rest assured that your guests or clients will be breathing in clean air. This can also help reduce allergy symptoms caused by dust mites, mold, and other allergens that can build up in your drapes over time.

Reduced Risk of Damage

Our team of professional cleaners have the tools and experience necessary to safely and effectively clean your draperies without causing any damage or discoloration to the fabric, so you won’t need to worry about replacing them prematurely.

Why should you choose professional on-site drapery cleaning?

Having your draperies professionally cleaned on-site can be one of the most efficient ways to extend their life and maintain cleanliness. Not only does this practice help save time, but it also provides several benefits that you may not have considered before. Here are some of the benefits of professional on-site drapery cleaning:

  • Cost-effective and time-saving professional on-site cleaning is cheaper in actual cost since we don’t have to take the time to remove the drapes and put them back in place. For hotels, on-site cleaning results in even bigger since the rooms won’t have to be out of order for any longer than it takes to clean the drapes.
  • Eco-friendly: we use environmentally friendly products that are safe for people, pets, and the planet!
  • Same-day cleaning: Point Three is capable of cleaning huge quantities of drapes and sheers in a single day, so even if your site is big, we can probably be done with the cleaning in one or more days.
  • No discolouration: We avoid discolouration by using a product that neutralizes cellulosic browning. We also test for colour fastness to make sure the spot cleaning products being used won’t remove colour. To help the drapes look crisp, we apply a starch product to the high touch areas to smooth out wrinkles. The steam used in the cleaning process also helps reduce wrinkling and creasing.

How is the process?

Evaluation

The on-site drapery cleaning process starts with an on-site evaluation. We will inspect your drapes to determine the best course of action, including fabric type and condition. Our technicians are highly trained and experienced in working on a variety of fabrics, ensuring that your drapes are handled delicately and carefully.

Pre-spray

Once the on-site evaluation is complete, we will begin the on-site drapery cleaning process. This includes a pre-treatment spray that helps loosen dirt and stubborn stains, making them easier to remove during the cleaning process. It is important to know how to apply the pre-spray in order not to cause permanent product stains on the curtain.

Steam cleaning

Once the pre-spray has been applied and has settled on the fabric, we proceed to steam cleaning. In this method, temperatures above 212 Fahrenheit / 100º Celsius are used to remove all types of stains and dirt. This method should only be carried out by professionals, as improper cleaning can result in damage to your curtains due to the high temperatures.

Dry and repeat if necessary!

Sometimes it is necessary to repeat the process if the drapes or sheers are very dirty or if there are stubborn stains. If not, after a short time you can enjoy completely dry, clean, and wrinkle-free drapes!
